Meeting the Requirements

The Segovia global IP satellite network meets or exceeds the DoD’s requirements for the military network of the future. Take a closer look below.

Ubiquitous Bandwidth Environment

The Segovia global IP network is a broadband solution that adds up to 18 Mbps of connectivity from a single small-aperture terminal. This means that it can easily handle large data files, as well as images, voice, and video.

In addition, the network is eminently scalable:

  • There is no limit to network capacity since we can leverage global satellite capacity from multiple providers.
  • The network can be rapidly expanded using the same technology, same interfaces, and same single-call support.

End-to-End Information Transport

Segovia’s fully managed network service is a complete, end-to-end turnkey solution. It includes everything you need from start to finish including:

Support of Worldwide Network-Centric Operations

Mobile Network Environment

The Segovia global IP satellite network is designed for mobility. Featuring very small-aperture terminals (VSAT) and dedicated global IP addresses, the network can be operational from forward locations in 15 minutes or less. Yet incredibly, despite its minimized forward footprint, it provides increased capabilities, expanded bandwidth, and improved productivity.

Interoperability

The Segovia IP satellite network is designed with interoperability in mind. An IP-aware (IPA) network, it is interoperable with legacy applications and disparate systems. It also supports NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and secure network peering with other private networks.

Other interoperability features:

  • Forwardly compatible to IPv6
  • IP Service with QoS to support network-centric operations
  • Performance comparable to traditional terrestrial solutions

Secure Data Transport

Segovia’s secure network architecture is battled tested using NSA-approved Type 1 encryption devices. In addition, it supports the very latest encryption standards including both Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple DES). Furthermore, it has proven in service to have the ability to provide the highest-level of encryption while maintaining network performance characteristics.
