C-Band Coverage Map
C-band is in the microwave range of frequencies (4 to 8 GHz) and performs better under adverse weather conditions than Ku-band or Ka-band frequencies. C-band VSATs vary between 1.5m and 2.4m in diameter and are ideal for maritime-base communications.
C-band beams cover a large geographic area and facilitate intercontinental and global communications over land and sea and enable cost-effective satellite services to less densely populated or underserved areas.
C-band frequencies are used to provide a wide range of critical services including:
- Distribution of Video services
- Distance learning, Telemedicine and Universal Access Services
- VSAT voice, video, and data networks
- Fixed Satellite Services
- Government/Emergency communication links, including disaster recovery services
- Maritime Services
- Oil and Gas Communications
